Would anyone know what this cryptic message means.

PlusRun Application Error
0X7C91103C referenced memory at 0x85370200. The memory could not be written.

Response # 1:
Makes perfect sense to me; what don't you understand?

Response # 2:
That sounds bad. I would get a new computer if I were you.

Response # 3:
Yes, I know what it means. Any other questions?

Response # 4:
Sounds like a segfault on the PCI bus. Adjust the flux
capacitor down just until a Reimann test gives a non-zero
response, then reinstall Windows and try it again.

Response # 5:
Hello Ira

I'm on vacation. Please excuse the responses above (and this
one too; I haven't really found much.) Yes, I am in tech
support.<g>

PlusRun is trying to write to memory and Windows is not
letting it for some reason.
Is this a new installation? Did you change anything
recently? (install new programs, etc.)
Are you using XP? (Maybe Vista has this feature also - I
don't know.)
If so, it could be DEP. I found a good article on it here:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc700810.aspx#XSLTsection124121120120
It expains what it is supposed to do, and how to turn it off
for a particular program. They also say "Don't, whatever you
do, turn it off globally" and then they show you how to do
that, too.
Hopefully, there is a better answer from someone else.

Thank you

No, I really liked those, especially #4 !
Now I will go to work in much better mood :)

Ira, you probably have just a "usual" memory violation.
What I noticed lately, since installing some updates, that
error-messages recently (in all applications! only rarely got some in
the dBase-app) became much more talkative instead of just displaying
"MAV" and going to Nirwana.

Actually I thinks it's an improvement - it forces them to close the
app
I also think that it's a great improvement. I have now in several places
seen that a much more detailed error message is displayed than before.

MS did a major re-work of the VC++ runtimes and probably some of those
changes even have an effect on already installed dinosaurs.

That's an interesting observation - one of my users just got a smiling
error msg - except it was "couldn't write" in an form that's been
getting MAVS

Actually I thinks it's an improvement - it forces them to close the
app

Ira,

Can you tell what you were doing, what you were using, etc?
