Is it possible to have two open datamodules referencing the same database or
the same table location?

The reason for this question is that I have a datamodule that is used by
several forms. The datamodule has grown and become quite complicated as one
of the forms grew. I would like if possible to split it into two datamodules
since most of the forms do not require the same complex set of tables,
although several tables are shared.

Sure it is. I even use custom datamodules.
I use a base datamodule for my databases. I have 3 different ones than base
all my other datamodules off that one adding different tables as needed.
I even subclass those to get the different combinations.
